Everything You Need to Know About Microblading for Brows
If you have sparsely defined eyebrows, microblading for brows could be the perfect option. Somewhere in-between an eyebrow pencil and a tattoo, microblading offers an alternative that lasts up to 18 months. Villano | MD is proud to be the first medical spa in Bend, Oregon to provide microblading services. Here’s a primer on microblading and what you need to know about the procedure.
A Primer on Microblading for Brows
Everyone has spaces that need to be “filled in” along their brow line. After all, they invented eyebrow pencils for just such a purpose. But for those who would prefer a longer lasting alternative, microblading may be just the thing. There are several microblading methods to choose from, but Villano | MD is proud to offer Everlasting Brows.
How the Procedure Works
During your initial appointment, your aesthetician will work with you to match the color of your brows by placing small amounts of pigment near your eyebrows to find the best shade for your overall skin tone and coloring. From there, you and your aesthetician will determine the best shape for your brows. Adjustments on color or shape can be made depending on your preferences.
The aesthetician then uses a superfine blade—known as a microblade—to make small incisions along your brow line. The size of the microblade will depend on the size of your brow hair as the goal is to make the pigment look as natural as possible.
The pigment is then applied for a waterproof, smudge proof, and completely natural look that will last up to 18 months.
What to Expect
Your initial appointment will last approximately two hours. We will then schedule a follow-up appointment 4-6 weeks later to touch-up as necessary. For both appointments, we take every precaution to ensure you are comfortable and satisfied. We use a medical-grade anesthetic to make sure you are relaxed and pain-free.
Best of all, you won’t have to hide from the public for weeks on end. In fact, most patients love the look of their new brows and are proud to show them off the moment they leave the office. Though your brows may appear slightly darker immediately following the appointment, they will soften to their natural shade within 2-3 weeks.
