NovaThreads Now Available at Villano | MD
One of the most recognizable signs of aging is skin that sags in various areas of the body. This happens as skin slows its collagen production over time, resulting in a loss of elasticity and firmness. However, there are very few anti-aging treatments that can lift drooping skin without invasive surgery. Villano | MD is proud to offer NovaThreads, a treatment promising patients a minimally invasive lift option for tightening sagging skin.

What are NovaThreads and PDO?
NovaThreads are hypodermic needles preloaded with an absorbable suture. They use a synthetic absorbable surgical suture made of polydioxanone (PDO), which are used frequently for open-heart and related surgeries. PDO is one of the safest materials to be implanted in the body. Your skin will fully absorb the PDO within 6 months. Best of all, you won’t have any scar tissue.
Your skin then gently reacts to the inserted threads, helping your body “heal” itself by creating new collagen. During the months needed to fully absorb the PDO suture, your skin repairs itself around the site.
Where Can NovaThreads Be Inserted?
A healthy face maintains a “V” shape, where most of the volume is toward the upper half of the face. As tissues age, however, gravity starts to take hold. This results in a diminished or inverted “V.” NovaThreads can create scaffolding to support tissues and recreate a “V” shape once it’s been lost. Most NovaThreads are inserted where the “V” shape can be rebuilt in the face.
NovaThreads can be inserted just about anywhere on the body. However, they are most effective in the neck and jawline. The lower third of the face is challenging to effectively treat with injectable fillers or botulinum toxin, as they are most effective in the upper and middle thirds of the face.
