Beauty from the Neck Up | Nose and Cheeks

By redefining the shape of the nose and cheeks, rhinoplasty and cheek augmentation can highlight your eyes, accentuate your smile, and contour the shape of your face for a more vibrant and youthful visage. As part of our series devoted to beauty from the neck up (including the neck, chin, and lips), today’s post centers on the most desired surgical procedures performed today.

Reshaping the Nose with Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty, also known as a nose job, is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures performed today. An individual may choose to have his or her nose reshaped for many different reasons, ranging from the aesthetic, including the desire for a more pleasing appearance, to the functional, such as for the correction of an impaired airway.

Inspired by Nicole Kidman, Kate Beckinsale, or Angelina Jolie, many of today’s most requested noses can add to the aesthetic of the face by reducing or increasing the size of the nose, altering the shape of the tip or bridge of the nose, narrowing the span of the nostrils, or changing the angle between the upper lip and the nose. Take a look at our before and after pictures to see the results for yourself.

Traditional rhinoplasties can be performed on an outpatient basis under local or general anesthesia and require minimal recovery time, though there has recently been a lot of interest in nonsurgical rhinoplasties. Nonsurgical rhinoplasties use fillers to reshape the nose without surgery, but though they can add to the volume of the nose, they cannot subtract or reduce the nose. Additionally, nonsurgical rhinoplasties cannot correct functional concerns such as deviated septums.

Reshaping the Cheeks with Cheek Augmentation

Often paired with a rhinoplasty, cheek augmentation surgery (or malar augmentation) is a relatively simple procedure that restructures underdeveloped cheekbones and helps to minimize other prominent features, such as the nose, chin, and jaw, restoring a more vibrant or even feminine appearance to the face.

If you’ve ever wished for round, plump cheeks reminiscent of January Jones (for women) or Leonardo Decaprio (for men), cheek implants can provide a youthful, cherub-like appearance to cheeks that may have become shallow or hollow due to age or weight loss. Implants are available in a variety of shapes and sizes and can easily be removed or changed to suit your desires.

Cheek augmentation is performed on an outpatient basis under local or general anesthesia and sedation and requires minimal recovery time. Cheek augmentation is often performed in combination with rhinoplasty, neck liposuction, or chin augmentation.
