As the upper face ages, it can begin to appear unhappy. Horizontal creases form across the forehead and the brow furrows to form frown lines. Endoscopic browlift surgery lifts, smooths and restores the forehead to create a more youthful and refreshed look above the eyes.
The endoscopic procedure has several advantages over its surgical counterpart. It only requires three to five small incisions (about 1 inch in length) instead of the traditional ear-to-ear incision, the hairline remains unaltered and the procedure can be performed with or without elevation of the brows. The endoscopic procedure also results in a faster recovery and inconspicuous scarring.
The procedure is performed in our office, usually on an outpatient basis. Browlift surgery can be performed under local or general anesthesia. With local anesthesia, you’ll be awake during the procedure but anesthetized and relaxed. The surgery takes from one to three hours, depending on the extent of the procedure.
