Chin Augmentation

A Well-defined Chin
Chin Augmentation

A well-defined chin may not be your first aesthetic concern, but perhaps it should be. A receding chin can make the nose and upper teeth appear more prominent and make the neck appear shorter. Chin augmentation surgery is a relatively simple procedure that lengthens the chin, balancing the cheeks and nose and elongating the appearance of the neck.

The implants are composed of a safe, non-reactive and permanent material that promotes attachment to the surrounding soft tissue. This material comes in custom shapes and sizes to suit your needs and can be easily removed or changed at a later date if desired. After discussing your goals and expectations, Dr. Villano can recommend the appropriate course of action. Chin augmentation is often performed in combination with rhinoplasty surgery.

The procedure is performed in our office, usually on an outpatient basis. Chin augmentation is typically performed with local anesthesia and sedation. With local anesthesia, you’ll be awake during the procedure but anesthetized and relaxed. The surgery takes from one to two hours, depending on the extent of the procedure.
